ACCESSING THE WATER –

RENAISSANCE OF THE POLYTECHNIKA WATERFRONT

(2012)

This year’s international Masterworkshop brought students from different countries and with different professions together in the historic atmosphere of one of the most iconic buildings of the Polytechnika Wrocław (PL). Students from the Netherlands, Poland and Germany, currently studying architecture, urban design and landscape architecture in the Bachelor or Master programmes found their way to Wrocław to approach different tasks of present city development and find innovative solutions. Our concept is named „Accessing the water – renaissance of the Polytechnika waterfront“ and focuses on proposing new approaches for the future development of the already impressive but underdeveloped riverbanks of the Odra river along the Polytechnika campus.

The challenge was to find a solution for connecting the waterfront with the campus area and develop a new design for the whole waterfront.
